HOMESTAY COORDINATOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENT PROGRAM
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - MUST BE WILLING TO DRIVE TO VISIT SCHOOLS, HOST HOMES AND STUDENTS.
Promotes the Homestay Program in the community. Places advertisements or posters at
schools and responds to all homestay inquiries within the area.
Maintains current and complete files of all prospective homestay families.
Recruits, screens and interviews new families, initiates the criminal record search process and maintains copies of completed forms and custodian/guardianship letters.
Matches students with homestay families. Works with the students and families to assist with the cultural, social and emotional integration of the homestay situation.
Deals effectively with conflict situations and assists with the communication process. Conducts home visits.
Acts as a liaison between our company, schools, parents and host families and corresponds directly with these parties via telephone, in person or email.
This position is responsible for organizing and supporting the efficient operation of the Homestay program. Support may sometimes require the Homestay Coordinator to be available to families outside of typical school hours.
Inputs data into the homestay component of the student record system including a picture file of homes. Provides current information and address lists to families, schools and the staff.
Notifies relevant parties of student moves and changes.
Maintains the financial records for the program including the management of custodial,
placement and monthly fees.
Provides orientation to new students coming into the homestay program.
Organizes airport pick-up and schedules for visiting parents.
Coordinates trainings and networking meetings for homestay families, on goingly.
Participates and assists in monitoring students at International Program activities and
events.
Transports students, if required, aside from normal school activities and host family
responsibilities
Performs other job related, clerical and administrative duties as required.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
