Job Description
Install, modify, repair, maintain, troubleshoot, test, and load new and existing electrical lines, circuits, systems, and associated fixtures, controls, and equipment. Installs and repairs electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment, following electrical code, manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints, and other specifications, using hand tools, power tools, and electrical and electronic test equipment.
Knowledge of the operation and installation of a variety of complete electrical systems and equipment, such as series, parallel, and compound circuits for single and multiple phase alternating current of varying voltage, amperage, and frequency; wiring systems in industrial complexes and in buildings; and power or regulating and control circuits and distribution panels to industrial machinery, computers or laboratory and other electrical equipment.
Maintain organization''s production equipment. Perform electrical and/or mechanical troubleshooting and repairs in response to equipment errors or failures. Repairs and maintains, in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer''s spcifications, machinery and mechanical equipment, such as die cutters, web and sheet-fed presses, inserting machines, folders, conveyor systems, bindery equipment etc. using hand tools, and precision measuring and testing instruments. May repair or reproduce parts using welders or machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, drill presses, surface grinders or other machine shop equipment.
Good knowledge of installation and repair of more complex equipment and machinery (including their lubricating and control systems,and power drives). Ability to examine and troubleshoot to determine the extent of repairs required, materials or parts needed, and to estimate the time required to complete repairs. Ability to interpret and apply the requirements contained in technical manuals, shop directives, multiview blueprints, and other documents in determining critical dimensions and key reference points. Apply more senior level knowledge of machinery repair in the use and application of standard formulas, shop mathematics, trade theories, and industry practices in calculating needed materials and problem solving; and in the use of various test equipment and measuring devices such as alignment scopes, vemiers, micrometers, precision levels, transits, strobe tachometers, bearing bridge gauges, flowmeters, hydrostatic testers, and vibration analyzers. General knowledge of setting up and operating machine tools such as small lathes, milling machines, drill presses, and precision grinders to manufacture component parts or re-machine existing parts.

May diagnose machine malfunction and determine the need for adjustment or repair. Dismantles machine or equipment to examine parts for defect or to remove defective part. Replaces defective part with new part or repairs or reproduces part. Assembles and test operates machine to verify correction of malfunction. Maintains and lubricates machine tools and equipment. Repairs, operates, and maintains physical structure of building and equipment.
Maintains and repairs buildings'' plumbing, HVAC, air compressors, boilers, fire systems and electrical systems, including replacing worn or defective parts such as switches and fuses.
Diagnoses and repairs or replaces faulty electronic components, such as printed circuit boards.
Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures and replaces damaged or broken wires or cables.
Replaced faulty electrical components of machine such as relays, switches, and motors, and positions sensing devices. Replaces and lubricates electrical motor bearings and rewires motors.
Adheres to and promotes all safety policies and procedures including, but not limited to the proper handling of hazardous waste, lock out - tag out rules and hearing and eye protection policies.
Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned.
Required Experience
Depending on responsibility scope, an associate s degree or trade school certificate in a related discipline and prior manufacturing experience preferred.
Welding Certification a plus
Powered Industrial Vehicle Certification (Forklift Certification) required.
Computer literacy required.
Ability to work in a team environment required.
